called today to HPT CTD00p condensor dryer unit
tripping RCD when switched on did PAT
test..low insulation resistance to earth foundstripped down..found damp and water in heater cover plate and around element insulation.
easy to repair with new heater unit.
my question is:
How has water got into the element casing area, i can not see water on base of unit with side panel removed.

you need to check the drain hole behind the pump isnt blocked
if you take the pump unit out, youll find a small drain hole at the bottom left of the grey plastic housing…. i push an old broken tumble dryer belt through and pull it out through the condenser housing to make sure the restriction doesnt flow back through
if it doesnt drain properly, it fills up in the fan chamber, then sprays water over the heater
