Hotpoint tumble dryer – keeps stopping

Hotpoint Aquarius Condenser TDC30P. Ser: 92104822

The dryer will start up normally and behave for varying periods between 5/8 minutes.
It will then stop before end of program.
The timer/programmer stops too.
There are no noises, hot smells or any other symptoms.
Its all clean and fluff free.
No lights on the front panel.
Position of temp switch has no effect on fault

If I press the start switch and hold it, it will run. I don’t hold it in for more than 15 seconds on principle, as something may be turning it off for a good reason.

Sometimes it will restart and run for maybe 2 minutes.

Any advice or diagnoses help would be appreciated.

Ok, thanks. I’ll try that. I did wonder about it, as I could not feel or hear a click from it when i pressed the switch.
