I have a Hotpoint tumble dryer model CTD80 one year and 10 months old.
It seems to be stuck on the “Cottons” “High Heat” “Cupboard Dry” programme, and cannot be changed to anything else.
This is the only programme that can be set when it is switched on. No other programme can be set.
This has just happened. It has been operating perfectly well up to now.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

You could try pressing and holding the Start/Cancel button for a few seconds to see if you can clear the memory. Failing that it may be time to take advantage of your 5 year parts guarantee and phone Hotpoint.

I thank you for your prompt reply to my query.
As there were wet clothes were in the dryer at the time I just carried on and used the programme it was stuck at.
After the programme finished I was able to key in any available programme.
I will write your advice down in the instruction book and try it the next time this happens, as no doubt it will, having no faith in Hotpoint now whatsoever.
