Hi, My hotpoint tumble dryer works for approximately 10minutes then trips mains RCD. The thermostats and heater i have tested and are working fine. There is no blockage in vent pipes as it is not a condenser dryer. The motor is turning the drum fine in both directions, so dont think its a capacitor problem. Could it be the motor or Toc to do with motor. I am not in possesion of a ohmmeter to test motor. Please help!!!

Sounds like something is leaking to earth. You need to do an insulation test on all components and visually inspect all the wiring, with the mains plug removed of course. 😉

Motor TOC is embedded in the motor windings but motors rarely cause this fault. Heaters, stats & chafed wiring are the usual suspects.

    Jim.
