hi, ive got a chance of getting a hotpoint VT-D00 tumble dryer at a bargain price, however apparently some form of pin has broken and now the drum moves when in use and causes a lot of noise, can you tell me whether or not this would be a cheap fix?

    Many thanks

It depends which part has broken, if it’s the rear drum support shaft then the part is about a tenner for the kit, it may well have caused more damage though if it’s been run like that for any length of time.

    On Ebay I guess and item 7568680825 ? 😉

yes that item on ebay, i spoke to the seller and they said it was the pin that holds the drum steady had broken and that the drum moves during use, and causes noise, he also told me that after they noticed it had broken they didnt use it after that.

The fact that it is described as noisy tells me that it has been used in that condition.

If the drum has been damaged, it’s around £35 for the part.
