    Hi

    I am looking for some advice my dryer hotpoint tfv760P is coming up with error F03 the engineer came out and replaced heating eliments and also put a new motor in for us but still coming up with the f03 error he said it was a faulty thermister and that the part was obsolete so he could not repair it. i have since found the part on the internet but need to confirm that the error code is infact a faulty thermister before commiting to buy it.
    Hope one of you can help and thank you !

    Re: Hotpoint TVF760P

    I am assuming that this engineer wasn’t from Hotpoint?

    F03 is a faulty FRONT thermistor, nothing at all to do with the heating elements or the motor, did you pay him to fit those?

    Part is not obsolete in any way, part number is C00142702, list price around £17.00.

    It is not that easy to access to be honest.

    Check security of module connector J12;
    • Test from connector pins (approximately 500 Kohms);
    • If open or short circuit, test thermistor and wiring between
    thermistor and J12 to locate fault.

    It sounds on the face of it that if you did pay for a motor and element then you have been seriously compromised, did he still have his spurs on? 🙁

    If you didn’t pay for it and it was an engineer from Hotpoint then I would complain in the strongest way possible.

    Re: Hotpoint TVF760P

    Mate he was Hotpoint engineer i stood and watched him the entire hour he was here , it had flashed f10 fault a day or two before then went to f03 i had read up about the thermister and mentioned this too him and he blanked me, he changed heating element, thermostats and put a new motor in, turned it on and within 10 seconds f03 back up so he had to “phone a friend” he checked for the part and said it could not be fixed as the part is obsolete ! I did not pay for the motor or anything as it was covered by warranty but they will not issue a replacement but will refund me the price i paid for the warranty in full. So i might as well by the part and do it myself i know i have to take the front of the dryer off and that it is located under the drum i believe but will give it a shot for £17 !!
    Thanks so much for clearing that up for me !!

    Re: Hotpoint TVF760P

    Sadly having seen some of the work done by some ‘engineers’ recently employed by Hotpoint to help clear up the major dryer safety recall that doesn’t surprise me. :rolls:

    The thermistor is not under the drum, it is located in the large plastic drum front support frame.

    That is Hotpoints official list price, send an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk . The store here should be able to source one for you at the correct price.

    Very odd, just searched and that thermistor is listed as obsolete even though it still shows up in their own Partfinder software. ❓

    Looks as though you may have to go with the one you found.

    Re: Hotpoint TVF760P

    , The TOD thermistor is a black plastic unit, I have double checked and THIS is the same one with a different number.

    For a rough idea of position see attached picture, item 206. Although the one in your picture could be correct as well, diagrams are not always accurate. Is that one connected to position J12 on the main pcb? It does appear to have different terminal positions than the usual TOD thermistor.

    Unfortunately the manuals do not give the electrical values of the thermistors. 🙁
