    My Hotpoint Aquar TVM560 has been giving off a high pitched screech when in operation, sounds very much like metal on metal. Is this a bearings fault? If so, is it suitable for DIY repair?

    its probably worth taking the small access panel of on the back.. its in the middle, held on with 2 screws… if the shaft or bearing is broken, u have serious issues
