Hotpoint Ultima 1200 model wm72

My hotpoint washing machine is switching off and showing an E30 fault. On removing the top I can see heavy sparking and bright flashes from the end of the motor when it is running. Is this an indication that the motor is faulty or can I get new brushes to fit to this motor. The machine is over 5yrs old so I would think that the cost of a new motor would probably be more than the machine is worth. As I am unemployed I would rather repair if Possible. Any advice you can give is much appreciated.

Certainly the brushes are worn and need replacing. Replacements can be bought via this link:-
