ParticipantI have an issue which my Hotpoint unit.
It was working perfect this morning. But go to use it this afternoon and everything is working as it should apart from the machine doesn’t start after selecting a programmed cycle.
The timer starts to count down as though things are working but sadly they are not. After a few seconds I get a bleeping sound and a scrolling message asking me to check the water supply.
Message reads No water, Check supply.
I have checked the supply and all is well.
Any ideas

You should be able to hear a faint humming noise at the rear of machine if the valve is working correctly?

Is there any way to test this or bypass it to see if it clears the problem

Can’t hear a humming noise.
Would this valve stop the complete machine working, even the spin cycle 🙂

Has a delay timer been set accidentally?

Look at the display screen, at bottom left there should be a yellow bar illuminated next to the delay timer button to e left of it… If its lit then a delay time has been set…press the corresponding button until it cancels…..
Of you can hold the on/off button in until the machine switches off..then switch back on again..

No delay timer set.
When switching the machine on, everything lights up as it should but the start/pause button is flashing as though a programme is still running but it’s been paused.
If I press the start/pause button the light stops flashing and the timer starts counting down but the machine does nothing.

Ok, sounds as though either the inlet valve/valves are faulty.
Before attemting any repair yourself, unplug the machine and remove plug from socket..This video should help..

If its fitted the the coo254298 board fitted I’d bet its blown. Quite common that as the suspension dampers go soft the motor catches the heat sink on the module and blown it.
Would have happens at the end of the last spin most likely
How soon after starting do you
Get the water message? when the board blows it normally comes up very quickly, way before the machine would have filled if it was working as normal.

With waterI have just timed it.
I selected the fastwash programme. It run for 6 mins before the water message was displayed. (At no point during that 6 mins did the door lock or the machine start to work, just the timer counting down)
My girlfriend has just informed me that the last cycle did end a little strange with the door not opening immediately. Had to power it off/on to open it.

If its counting down with out engaging the door lock I’d almost certainly say its a module problem as it should not even begin with out locking the door,
What are the numbers on the sticker behind the door? These will tell us the exact version of the machine.
