Hotpoint Ultima CTD85 TIMER PROBLEM

Hi there
Ihave the above condensing dryer the countdown timer is stuck on 10 minutes and will not count down or allow reprograming it stays on the 10 minutes runs but does not dry ?

well, it wont if its stuck on 10 mins

anything under 10minutes is a cool cycle, so wont dry

interesting fault.. does it just stay on 10 mins?

does it never count down

they were notorious for sticking buttons… u may find one of the buttons is constantly depressed

first thing to do is take the lid off, then the fascia, then the pcb, and refit it all properly and see how you go

its unusual for a fault without a fault code of some sort

just check the the drier element, had this on a ctd80 (white version) as it stuck on 20 mins and tripped few mins afterwards. replaced pump, but still stuck on 20, *no trips* so assumed to be pcbs so referred to hp, hp came out and replaced element & stats. just seems to have come out of normal insulation parameters i guess…
