Good evening and a Merry Xmas!! I have a very old and until recently, very faithful dishwasher, nearly 18!!! The cold water valve keeps stopping but I know how to sort that out. However, during recent heavy use over the festive season, I have managed to break the door catch although wedging a carefully cut to length bamboo cane between the handle and the opposite wall, keeps the old girl running!! I want to repair the machine properly and I’m fairly certain the parts are still available but I can’t for the life of me fathom out how to get the front door panel off. I’ve removed the screws either side of the door but don’t know if the knobs have to come off, they seemed pretty tight to me, didn’t want to use excessive force. Hope you can help, really don’t want to buy a new machine when I’m sure this one’s worth looking after. Thanks very much, David

The control knobs, top facia and metal door panel come off as one unit.

Once the screws are removed you have to prise off the plastic facia using a thin bladed screwdriver or similar. At this age it will be rather brittle and may crack or break.

When refitting take care to line up the on/off switch correctly.

Part number of door latch is C00180538.

Be sure to remove the mains plug first. 😉

Thank you very much for your reply. When you say use a thin bladed screwdriver, where do I insert it, do you mean along the top edge between the stainless door and the fascia? regards David

Yes, take care though, the metal edges are like razors.
