Yesterday my Hotpoint Ultima S-Line SWMD 9637 kept switching itself on and off even though I wasn’t using it at all yesterday. In the end I had to unplug it as it would not stop switching itself back on. Today when I have come to use the machine it allowed me to select the programme but after a few minutes there was a bang and the machine stopped working. No display; would not switch on. Changed the fuse but as soon as it was plugged back in there was a bang and smell of burning. Machine is only just 2 years old. Is it worth getting an engineer or should I look at buying new? Thanks
You have a five year parts warranty. Phone Hotpoint and they will fix it for labour only, labour not cheap but much less than you or anyone else can repair it for.
