Hotpoint Ultima TDL60 Dryer – Won’t start

Hi,

My Hotpoint Ultima TDL60 is 6 yrs old. Never had any problems. It’s a front loading with push door switch, auto-reverse, auto-sensing type with a vent to outside rather than a condenser.

All of a sudden it stopped working, no clue as to why. Power is OK (when the door opens the Clean Filter reminder light comes on). When you press the start button nothing happens. Any Ideas where to start ?

Things I already tried (with the plug out!).
-Took top off.
-Cleaning inside (Ducts, All around the drum area, electical circuit boards)
-Rejointed all visible connectors to timer, door switch, control boards etc).
-Cleaned the rotation sensor and metal strip around the ouside of the drum.
-Cleaned the dampness sensor in the drum with vinegar solution as per handbook.
-had a look at the back heating coils & sensors – hoovered them.
-Cleaned around the motor and condensor, checked for rotation – OK
-Cleaned the heat sensors

Still doesn’t work 🙁

To be honest I think you have gone as far as you can without a wiring diagram and a multimeter or meggar.

No known obvious causes, main problems with this machine are stats, belts and rear drum bearings. Control timer, door switch, module etc are not common failures and can only be tested with the aforementioned technical information, before you ask we cannot supply that as it is under manufacturers copyright, sorry. 😥
