I have a washer dryer that won’t heat on the wash or dry cycle but there is no code. What do you think it could be? What should I check first?

Are you sure it’s not heating on the wash cycle. Two totally different heaters for a start. A faulty dryer heater would be the likeliest cause of dryer not working but a faulty wash heater would cause the wash programme to continue indefinitely.

PS. A model number is always a big help. 😉

    Sorry it’s ultima wdd960.
Neither are heating up for sure. I’ve put it on a 90 and its still cold. Even checked the draining water. Its been like that for months. Could both thermostats gone at the same time? It’s definitely a weird one. It appears no one on the Internet has suffered this same issue.

It doesn’t have any thermostats, and the two systems are separate. The temperatures are controlled by NTC’s or thermistors which do not stop the heaters from working, they basically just control the temperatures.

If you have access to a suitable multimeter or better still a megger then the first thing to do is to check both elements electrically.

It is possible that the wash heater failed months ago and now the dryer heater has failed but you should have noticed some problems with the programmes when or if the wash heater failed.

Ok thanks. I will have to dig out the old multimeter.
