ParticipantI just changed the door seal as the machine had a leak. It all seems a fine fit and the door closes ok etc but I can’t start the machine to try it out as it gives 5 beeps and the door lock/open symbol is constantly on.
Is there anything that I may have done wrong to have caused this? As I said, the door clearly closes ok and I can hear it click.
Thanks for any suggestions in advance

You’ve knocked the interlock connector plug off?

Thanks for the reply Martin. I took off the seal again and the interlock looks fine with the plug still on. Leaving it tonight then I will take the machine out to get the cover off and see if any plug or wire has been dislodged from the panel but not holding out much hope.

Weak or broken spring in door latch?

I think there’s every hope that has happened as they can easily be disconnected. 😉

Took the top off and checked but all wires seem still firmly in place.
Any suggestions before I call out an engineer? Is it worth me ordering a new interlock and waiting the few days for it to come or is this likely to be a waste of time?

If it worked fine immediately before you replaced the door boot then It would be logical to assume a wire has got damaged or disconnected since. However, if the old door boot was leaking like a collander with holes in it adjacent the interlock then it may be water stained and may have fused the PCB…???

Hi Martin
The old seal wasn’t leaking through holes it just wasnt fitting well to the door and was leaking out the bottom. I was trying a new seal before looking at the hinge as a next step if needed. The PCB is ok but like you say maybe one of the wires is damaged. I will try a new interlock as that is fairly cheap then get someone to check the wires if need be after, thanks -
