    tried reset. tried tapping relays on board. problem persists. have now removed board. any suggestions?

    As you’ve identified this is a heater relay fault, on the main PCB. What happens next depends on your level of expertise, the relay can be removed from the board and replaced or, if you dont have the tooling or confidence to do that you’d really need to get an engineer in as after you purchase the new PCB and an EEprom to fit it you need to programme the EEprom for your specific model . The interface for doing this is something you’re unlikely to have.

    Thanks. I am able to replace the relay, but which one as there are two identical. Or do I replace both and, if so, where do i buy them?

    I’d generally salvage them from a scrap board but failing that the details are printed on the relay lid pretty sure you’ll get them in RS possibly even maplin

    replaced relays. problem persists. back to sq one. probably end up in argos tomorrow. def not buying hotpoint again tho’.thanks for input.

    I’m assuming you’ve already checked the wiring into the heat sensor in the centre of the heater and checked it for resistance . The heater itself ok?

    So you’ve changed relay K2 you didnt by any chance notice any swelling or bulging on the top of capacitors c4, c20, c16 ?
