ParticipantHi Guys,
I’m after some assistance here please if possible. I have a good old Hotpoint washing machine and just recently it emitted a “Door” error. It has only occurred once, however it doesn’t seem to want to start any program. All lights are good apart from the “Door Locked” light – stays off. The door itself locks fine, does not appear to be loose in any way.
When I turn the machine on – all the lights do flash on, including the door locked light, but that’s about it. When I do close the door and try to start a program, I still need to wait a while before I can open the door.
My question is that, is it likely to be the door interlock ? Or is it more likely the PCB has developed a fault ? Is there any way of checking ? I have already taken out the interlock and although I don’t know what to look for, it doesn’t seem burnt or any burnt smell coming from it. I was about to take the PCB on the back off but decided to call it a night. Could it be the board on the front, behind the controls ?
Any suggestions or help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Check motor brushes. Unplug power before going in.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I’ll take a quick look at them when I get back home.
I might just order the bushes & interlock and replace them in hope. Doesn’t seem to cost too much to eliminate the 2 things.
Thinking ahead, what if it’s not either of these things ?

lol, Thanks iodom!
I was already thinking along those lines to be honest. I thought the PCB had gone and sod paying for a new one when I can put that towards a new machine.
Fingers crossed it’s a cheap fix!
Thanks
