Dear All,
I am having problems with my Hotpoint Ultima WT741 washing machine and I am hoping someone might be able to help before I go to the expense of purchasing a new machine.
The issue is that the washing machine door lock mechanism activates as standard whenever the door is closed and the power is switched on. Hence, I cannot reopen the door once I have closed it, even if I have not started a cycle. Furthermore, at the end of a cycle, I cannot open the door to retrieve my washing.
Intermitently, the display will also flash “DOOR” during a cycle.
My initial thought was that the cause of the problem was the door lock mechanism. However, I have replaced that part and the problem is persisting. My only way of opening the door is therefore to switch off the power to the machine and manually release the door lock mechanism.
I would be grateful for any thoughts/suggested investigations before I go to the expense of purchasing a new machine.

How many times is it flashing…it should give a number of flashes,then repeat after a short pause
