The rating plate is on the front inside the door. If you post back tomorrow then hopefully someone else may be able to confirm the type.
Unfortunately I will not be around for a few days, my one and only daughter is getting married on Saturday so I will be otherwise engaged. 😉
That said, if you post the pcb to me I will repair it for half the EMW price, at your risk of course.

Visions of 100’s of duff Indesit modules stacking up by your front door……the smell of solder flux wafting down the cul de sac…..! :clown:April 25, 2014 at 2:27 pm #412723CHRISX

“Hello iadom”,
I know that You probably will not see this until next week but I wanted to reply now as I will be away from a Computer for most of next week.
Thank You for your very kind offer to do the replacement of the Capacitor for Me – But I would be very reluctant to post the PCB to You and have it returned in the post – here is why:
I send everything that I ever post by either Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery – except Birthday & Christmas Cards – You would not believe the problems that I have with Royal Mail `losing` items – including the Special Delivery’s.
I have also experienced breakages to items that I have posted like this:
Wrapped in bubble wrap – put into a box – wrapped that box in bubble wrap – put it all into another sturdy box well taped up – and put `Fragile` labels Front, Back & Sides and sent Special Delivery.
When some of the Parcels were delivered they were completely squashed as if someone jumped on them – or they had a LOT of weight put on top of them !
Those are just some examples – I have had many items broken in the past – now I will not send anything Fragile in the Post.I wanted to explain the above because I would have to turn down your very kind offer ONLY because of my BAD experiences with Fragile items sent by Royal Mail – I cannot take a chance with a PCB going `To & From` in the Postal system.
I hope that your Daughters Wedding goes well and that there is good Weather for Her very special day – and that You enjoy yourself on this very special day for a Father.
If I cannot find out the exact PCB that I need from EMW I will ask You about the Washing machine model again – posting the details / numbers from the machine label on the inside of the door.
Thanks again iadom.
Regards,
CHRISX

How do you think EMW are going to send the replacement pcb to you, why by post of course. I have sent countless pcb’s to and from EMW without any problem.
Sent from my hotel suite at the Radisson Blu Manchester. 8)

“Hello again iadom”,You seem to have dismissed my point about Me having had many problems with sending and receiving fragile items in the Post ?
I can assure You that what I described and many more examples occurred.
I know the EMW will be sending the PCB by Post – BUT – IF it does get damaged before I receive it I would expect EMW to replace the PCB and take up the matter of the damaged one with Royal Mail.
They will have a stock of the reconditioned PCB`s – I only have the existing one from my Washing machine.I am waiting to hear from EMW about the correct PCB for my machine.
Thanks again for your help – I really appreciate it.
I have not completely ruled out sending the PCB to You for replacing the Capacitor – it was ONLY my previous BAD experiences with Royal Mail / the Postal system that made Me reluctant – but at the very least I would have to know that I could send it to You by Royal Mail Special Delivery – so someone would have to be at your address to sign for the package.
And also We would have to arrange a suitable Post date for the PCB to sent back to Me by Royal Mail Special Delivery so that I could ensure that someone was at my Home to accept delivery and sign for it.
Your very nice offer to replace the Capacitor with an upgraded one [?] at Half the price that EMW charge for a reconditioned PCB – plus I think the Special Delivery charge for a small package has increased to over £6.00 = £12.00 for Send & Return would probably only be about £20.00 less that EMW would charge.
Thanks again.CHRISX

“Hello Andy Jones”,
I have not mentioned that there might be any problem with purchasing a reconditioned PCB from EMW.
As I wrote to iadom above – I know that they will be sending the PCB by Post – but if it did get damaged I would expect them to replace it and then take up the matter of the damaged PCB with Royal Mail.Regards,

A thought, can you take a decent quality picture of the component side of the pcb and post it in this thread, in most cases we should be able to see if the particular capacitor is faulty.

“Hello again iadom”,Thanks for the suggestion – I am away from Home at present and will not be back there for a few Days – but when I return Home I will try to remove the PCB – take a Photo and post it on here.
I will be making finding and removing the PCB a priority then.
Could You please help Me with where the PCB is located within the machine – will I be able to see it when I take the back of the machine off ?
I am asking this in case there is another way of accessing the PCB ?Thanks for your help.
Regards,
CHRISX

Only one way, down at the back, it will be obvious when you remove the small back panel. Be sure to make a very careful note of the wiring connections before you remove them, also make sure it has been unplugged for at least ten minutes just in case your machine does have the 3 phase motor in it.

“Hello iadom”,Thank You very much for your reply and the details about the location of the PCB and about having the machine unplugged for more than 10 minutes to ensure safety in case the motor is a 3 phase – I really appreciate your help.
I will also ensure that I carefully note the wiring connections before disconnecting them.
Because I am away from Home at present I will not be able to take out the PCB to photograph it until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest – I hope that You will still be able to reply to Me next week.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Chris

“Hello again iadom”,
Thank You very much for being patient regarding the fact that my Enquiry / thread has become a bit drawn out because I was away from Home for about a week.
Today I removed the PCB from my Washing machine – unfortunately no matter what I tried regarding lighting etc. I could not capture a Photo of it that is well lit enough to show good definition – the 3 Photos that I did take are useless – but I wanted to attach them just to show that I did remove the PCB.
But when I tried to upload them I got the Error message that the File is too big – maximum File size 256 KiB – see attached screenshot.
I read previously about being able to see a slight `dome effect` on the Capacitor – I can just about see a slight rise on the top of the largest one in the group of 3 capacitors – is this the `known to become faulty` Capacitor ?Even if I could have taken a decent Photo the `rise` on the top of the Capacitor would never have been visible – it is just too slight and I can only see it by looking sideways at it.
I am obviously hoping that it is definitely the PCB that is causing the `All Lights Flashing` [including the Time display] fault on the machine – is there anything else that it could be ?
EMW have identified the PCB as a `Mark 4` after I gave the Numbers that You suggested from the machines door label – and I have checked some letters on the existing PCB do correspond with a Picture of the Mark 4 PCB on their website.
As the reconditioned PCB`s are programmed to the Washing machine models I hope that it will be a `Fit and Fixed` Repair when I replace the faulty one.
Could You please do me a favour and post a brief reply – I would appreciate any comments as soon as You can please – I will not order the PCB until I have seen your reply – just in case there is some further information that I need to know about.
Thank You very much for your help with this iadom – I really appreciate it.Regards,
Chris

If you can see even the slightest amount of doming then that capacitor has failed, I repaired one with the exact same fault only yesterday, yes I know I was working on a Bank Holiday. 🙂

“Hello iadom”,
PLEASE SEE MY PREVIOUS MESSAGE ABOVE FROM EARLIER TODAY ABOUT MY WASHING MACHINE.
Just as an aside regarding my previous statements about the problems that I have had with Postal / Carrier Deliveries in the past and the comments from Youself ans Member Andy Jones.
Here are some of the Packing & Shipping / Delivery information / instructions on His website from an Electronics Engineer that I have used for a repair to a Sky Digibox in the past:
QUOTE:
WHAT HAPPENS TO PARCELS:
These notes are important so please take the time to read and understand them. Most people have no appreciation of what happens to a parcel in transit and, as a result, I occasionally receive a box with a lot of pieces rattling inside which, unfortunately, I have to refuse or return unrepaired, with an invoice for carriage.
Imagine that your parcel is going to be thrown (not placed, THROWN) into a lorry. A hundred more parcels may then be thrown on top of it. Your parcel is now sitting beneath two hundredweight of other parcels, being joggled, bounced and squeezed as the lorry accelerates, decelerates and hits potholes, kerbs and anything else that gets in the way. You can write “fragile” in BIG letters but unfortunately, neither the lorry nor those other parcels can read! On arrival at the central depot the parcels are THROWN into a storage warehouse to be sorted for their various destinations. They undergo a lot more handling before finally being thrown onto another lorry to be transported to your local depot where they will be transferred to a delivery van. Oh, yes, and it’s *always* raining.
To be fair, most delivery drivers take good care of your property, but they are always in a hurry and parcels can get dropped. One parcel even fell out of a moving van onto the pavement and was delivered to my customer three days later by an honest passer-by who just happened to find it. Of course I’m painting the worst case scenario, but this is what you should bear in mind when packing your receiver.
END OF QUOTE
He has written this and put it onto His website after experiencing all of the above happening to Parcels that have been sent to His Business.
This is exactly the same treatment that many of my Parcels must have had – that I have both Sent and Received !
Regards,
Chris
