Hotpoint Ultima WT940 stuck at 12mins “Time to end” ?

Hi all,
yep I’ve just joined another forum! Duuh! (active helper on car/diy forums…but washing machines is a new one ! LOL)

anyway, if any one can give a little help on this problem it would be much appreciated, ❓ thx

Hotpoint Washing Machine Ultima WT940
Problem: washing machine is stopped at 12 mins to “Time to end”
The LCD display just shows 12 mins to end with a flashing bar below.
No response from buttons including on/off/cancel buttons appart from a beeping noise & another bar flashing.

Works I have done so far:
1/mains power off/on..no change
2/Removed, cleaned out & replaced (outlet) pump & associated pipe work (no change)
3/ Unlocked door & removed soggy washing LOL..(reclosed & locked door).
4/ Removed control unit overnight, replaced…no change

Cant seem to find a way to cancel the current program & reset

Any ideas folks?…not sure where to go next, dont really want to go on a spare part spending spree on chance…but dont want to land filling …

the Indesit electronics in these are the equivalent of say a Proton in the car trade. :rolls:

Running a megger over all components especially the motor and heater for insulation leaks is advisable, watch that pcb though, leave the machine unplugged for ten minutes before going near that, it packs a hefty wallop. :eeek:

If all that checks out OK then it could well be a main module fault. You can send it off to be tested/repaired rather than trying to fit new as that would involve a £20 smart card and a £100 card reader to programme the £100 module. 😥
