ParticipantHi, the metal things that hold the paddles in place have come off and now are sitting between the outer and inner drum, tried to get them out through the holes in the drum but holes are too small , any help or advise would be greatly appreciated , thanks

There are no ‘metal things’ used to keep the plastic drum lifters in place. The lifters are pushed into slots in the drum and held in place by a small tab at the front which is part of the stainless steel drum.
It sounds as though you may have got a bra wire or similar inside the drum. That will be the reason for the lifters breaking off.
What do these ‘things’ look like?
If you really cannot get them out of the holes under the lifters by any means then it will entail a major strip down of the outer drum.

Thankyou iadom, that’s helped a lot, the metal “thing” that is between drums is about 3/4 the size of an iPhone and has various holes in it and slots , no idea what it could be but looks to be made of the same metal as the drum. Looks like I’ll have to try and get a cutter in the hole and take bits off at a time

It sounds like the heater retaining plate, if that has come adrift then you must have had something seriously large and hard inside the drum, possibly a big coin or similar.
You may a new heater which can be removed from the back, you can fish out the plate at the same time, you should also remove the large black sump hose under the drum. You will very likely find the cause of the damage in there. 😉
Look at THIS picture of an element, you can see the plate under the end of the element.

Fantastic advice thank you, machine up and running again now after having removed the mangled plate and £19.63 in coins and other misc items from the basket in the black tube, I’m totally amazed it ever ran at all with all that in it.
Many thanks once again , really appreciate it
Regards and all the best

Have you replaced the old heater without the plate? It is designed to prevent the heater hitting the inner drum whilst spinning.
PS. The machine operator needs a good talking too.
