ParticipantHi,
Came to use our tumble dryer today and the drum wouldn’t spin. Removed all the clothes and it would then spin but with a very unsettling crunching noise.
It’s out of warranty so I took a look inside and it looks like the drum is not mounted correctly. There is a ring around the door which I think the drum is supposed to fit against but instead it’s leaning against the back of the chassis.
I looked behind the drum and there doesn’t seem to be anything fixing it to the back of the chassis. There is what I think is the earthing strip still on the back of the machine but nothing which links the drum to this
Do I just need a bearing kit or is there more to it?
Thanks
James

A complete kit is available.
Comes with some very basic instructions, have fun getting the belt back on and make sure you unplug first. 😉

Thanks for the replies.
Is this going to be difficult to fit? Is it just a matter of screwing something into the back of the drum or do I need to remove the drum/belt/motor etc to do it?
Thanks

Can’t really walk you through it but the drum does have to come out.
Most of it is fairly obvious to anyone with a modicum of mechanical nouse once the top and right hand side (from front) is removed. 😉

Fitted this successfully today (thanks for the great service) but found that the belt was snapped.
I think I’ve found the correct belt (product code 1703666) but I’m worried about being able to fit it. Is it matter of brute strength or is there a technique to it?

Participantbrute strength.. there is a proper tool, but people use socket exrtensions/copper tube to pull the belt oveer the shaft
and yes, thats the right belt -
