Hi all, new to the site but well impressed with it.
Have a problem with a Hotpoint washer model WT740, part way through the cycle came up with error code F 08. On the Hotpoint site it indicates a faulty heater relay.
Had 2 quotes both around 120 pounds to replace the board.
Anybody any other ideas, what does the heater relay look like, is it possible just to replace this.

    Hope you can help

    Cheers 1212

    Re: hotpoint washer

It’s one of the black relays on the computer board in the bottom. There have been various attempts at repair and replacement documented through this forum, with mixed results…….

F08 is also not guaranteed to be a board fault (It probably will be.). You would need to check the entire heater circuit for continuity and resistance, before you can be sure it’s the board.

Your cheapest guaranteed option is to pay The Indesit Company £99.85 and get any and all parts included in the price. Be warned that they’ll try and flog you an extended warranty at the same time!

Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

Hi and thanks for the prompt response.
Could you explain the bit about the guaranteed repair and who do I contact, is it Indesit directly.
    Many thanks

    08709 066 066

    is the direct number

theyll repair the machine.. all parts included as p45 says for £99.85, and guarantee it for 3 months

theyll hassle you to death to pay upfront with your card, then take and extended warranty

poor attempt from a multi national company.. in effect youll be buying your machine twice… cant lose can they?
