My washing machine has an intermittent fault on it when i use the tumble dryer.

I can use it one time and it works fine but the next time i use it the clothes come out soaking wet, but hot.

Any advice on what it’s likely to be?

It depends upon the model number, 1100 is the spin speed 😉

Easy one, remove the back panel and the sump hose is dead centre at the bottom. Slide a large washing up bowl or roasting tray underneath the back edge of the machine and remove this hose, have a few towels handy.

There is a plastic filter inside which often gets clogged up. Don’t forget to remove the mains plug first.

Condensor is a little harder to get at but doesn’t suffer from blockages as much as later, Indesit based dryer assemblies. Its the big plastic doofer going from around 5 o’clock on the back of the drum up to the heater box on top of the drum.

You can check if the condensor valve is working by prising off the small black cap which you will find dead centre at the top of the machines back panel, when you select a drying cycle you should see a small stream of water spouting out.
