My washing machine keeps filling up with water. It finishes it’s cycle and drains all the water as usual, no problem. But then the next day when I check, it’s filled with water again. Why would it fill up once the cycle had finished and the water had drained out?

Hey – you’re now in the washing machine forum, instead of the cooking one 😀 .

    1/ Model number.
    2/ Clean water or dirty?

Clean water is caused by a faulty fill valve. Turn one of the taps off – if it stops, the one that’s off is the culprit. If it doesn’t, the one that’s left on is doing it.

If the water’s dirty, it’s back filling from the drain.

    Hi…thanks for the reply.

    It’s clean water.

Do you mean turn one of the taps off and then try using the washer as normal? If so is it just a case of replacing the valve?

Turn off the tap whist not in use overnight. This will diagnose the faulty valve.
