ParticipantCalled out to dead machine. Checked power out of filter to be good, assumed power board to be duff and sent it off to EMW. To my suprise it came back as no fault found. I think the next step will be the top board. Have any of you guys come across a fault the same as this and what caused the problem?

anyway, the two buttons on the bezel will be sticking

Or interlock? You usually know if that’s the problem as the door locked light flashes but the other day my own Hotpoint was doing odd things. At the end of the wash the door was hard to open and the locked light came on for a couple of seconds after I opened the door :rolls:

I see your point, but this is just like it is switched off at the mains. I am off to it tomorrow and I will let you know. Odds on favourite is the top board switch.

Check tactile switches on console PCB for dry joints, you will need a magnifying glass if you eyes are owt like mine

Went back today armed with every possible part I could think of. Refitted board and all worked ok. Looks like it was an intermittent board or bad connection.

Participanterm, it was the buttons sticking if you want to be factual
