I have got another problem with a hotpoint machince so here goes, i called to the wd420 for a fault of not draining i soon found that the pump was seized and a bra wire in it, so i changed the pump but still it would not work, on testing i have got 240 volts with the pump disconeccted to the wires of the pump but as soon as i connect the wires to the pump the voltage goes and obviosally the pump does not work, with my meter connected it goes from 0 volts pump connected to 240v as soon as you disconnect the pump, i have tried 2 different pumps and put spade terminals on to make sure of a good fit and tried with the pump lying out of the housing, i am thinking of a pcb fault as that is all i can think of but would like to hear of any different ideas if its the case. sounds like the wee transistor on the pcb may have blown so not carrying the load. If you look on the top left hand side of the board there’s a wee group of 4 of them I think they control the valves and the pump component numbers Q10, Q11, Q12 AND Q13 .I cant remember which is which but the location of the pump feed wires will show you
