Hotpoint WD420

Hi all

Went to this customers machine about 6 weeks ago forma no final spin fault, replaced the brushes and all was well till a few days ago.. This time it would not drain the water out.!
So took pump apart and cleaned out a bit off fluff and the dreaded “hair clip”

Tested machine before leaving, all worked fine

Now customer says she managed a few washes after i left, but now the machine shows “start” and “drying” lights on constantly and machine wont respond!

Any ideas welcome

As i type this i have realised i did not check the sump filter, will check this tonight but cant see that making a lot of difference as machine drained very quickly on test

Would really welcome a service manual for this also..

Sorry , its the start and drying lights are flashing, not steady

Thanks Colin, with the info you provided, i have narrowed it down to heater relay contacts welded together!
