Is it right that the drying time for a normal load is 180 minutes!!! I would have thought nearer 60 mins.

I have a customer with this machine and the over temp cutout has failed. I can find nothing wrong with the machine apart from the open circuit stat. The instruction book mentions 180 mins for a full load!!! I can’t believe that a modern dryer can be so inefficient? The earlier Hotpoint washer dryer was much more efficient. She also mentioned that the dryer timer does not advance to tell the elapsed time. This is true as it is a rotary switch … not a timer. Who designs this rubbish?

There has been a complete mod for this model Bob, what is the date code.
Mod includes different element, removal of filter and hose etc.
