Guys,
I’m hoping that one of you may be able to offer me somew advice. I went to look at a Hotpoint WD420 that had died on the customer. The machine literally does nothing, the only life that I can see is that some of the leds onthe front panel light up for a split second when the machine is plugged in.
The leds that lit are as follows
Left hand side, top to bottom…
Drying/High Heat (On)
Reduce Creases (On)
Rinse Hold (On)
Timer Save (On)
Extra Rinse (Off)
The other leds on the panel left to right……….
Door Lock (Off)
Wash (Off)
Rinse & Spin (Off)
Final Spin (Off)
Dry (On)
On/Off (On)
As mentioned the leds light for a fraction of a second. The customer reported that the machine had suffered some damage in transit and needed a replacement control board.
I’ve removed the PCB but haven’t noticed any burn out. Would I be right in thinking that if it is the PCB then I’ll not be able to do anything for the customer and it’ll be a job for the Hotpoint boys?
Many thanks,
Mark
