Hotpoint WD420 error code lights 3 + 4 flashing

Hi There

My Hotpoint Aquarius WD420 is not working. When I start a wash the on/off light flashes quickly and then lights 3 (Rinse Hold)& 4 (Time Saver) flash.

Have searched for this on the forums but can’t find the error code. Can anyone help with the error code and what might be wrong.

How hard did you look, its under Help & Advice, Fault Codes. 😉

It is pointing towards a wash ntc fault, all wiring connections from ntc to main circuit board first thing to check, with the mains plug removed of course.

Is there a guide on how to find this and how to check it.I’ve had a look here but couldn’t find anything.

Cheers for the advice.

I have found the thermistor and got it out. With a multimeter I am getting a reading of approx 90 -100 ohms before and after dipping it in hot water. Is there a reading for a good one.

The wash ntc should read 20k ohms at 20C. If it doesn’t vary when immersed in hot water then it could well be faulty, do check the wiring carefully, it is pretty flimsy.

The wash ntc is not available as a separate part, only comes with new heater. 😥

Unless you have a local repair shop you could buy a second hand one from.

I have quite a few recovered from faulty heaters that are perfectly serviceable.
