It’s been such a long time since I’ve had to call in, but glad to see the site still going strong.
So, My sister in law’s WD420, symptoms as above, would indicate some problem with the dryer temp sensor. 2 questions… Would the fault cause the error codes even if dry cycle not selected? and… what would the normal cold resistance of the sensor be?
Many thanks from Wales, Rich
Don’t have the exact resistance figures to hand but the machine will abort during a wash cycle. The electronics run a quick diagnostics test and will go into error if any faults are encountered. It could just be a loose contact or a broken wire on the ntc(sensor).
Thank you Iadom, I looked at it tonight, the connections all looked ok, but the sensor resistance was only 6 ohms, which i figure is far too low for something whose resistance was meant to fall when heated. So I stuck a 47kohm resistor in there for now and told her not to use the dryer part while i get a new sensor from ukwhitegoods spare parts. Thanks for your help.
