Hotpoint WD420 flashing

Hi guys,

we have had our machine for more than 2 years now,since last week it has started flashing and doesn’t work.I read the other threads but didn’t find an answer.

At the moment,when you press start,it starts flashing fast,along with drying high heat + time saver buttons (slowly).so,it would be button 1 and 4.

any idea what is wrong with it and how to repair it?

Looks like the computer board may have lost its programming 🙁 . Power off if you are going to have a look yourself. Hotpoint may charge you £90 under the free parts warranty.

thanks for the quick reply simon.I am no expert in these things,but with right instructions might be able to do it.any chance of instructions?

You will not be able to re program the eeprom on the main PCB. Only Indesit Company authorised engineers have the software needed to perform this.

The only way you could repair this machine yourself is to replace the control PCB & eeprom. The parts alone will cost you more than the Indesit Company Ltd’s labour charge of just under £90.00.

Give them a call and take advantage of your five year parts guarantee.
