Been to 2 recently where one on a machine has tripped RCD. Mains suppressor contacts full of condensation that has run off top of cabinet between lid through hole onto suppressor. the second one has charred wiring and burnt the lid (old fusebox). Both after dryer cycle. If there is a condensation issue why the heck do they fit the suppressor with the contacts facing upward?
I see a post where a hotpoint person has bypassed the suppressor when i was doing a search for hotpoint and suppressor. Should we be fitting plastic bag cover to these? 😆
Have seen this on an Ariston. Seem to remember there was some sort of vent (?) hole about 5mm, in dryer alu ducting. Can’t remember if I decided to block it. But whatever I did, not been called back.
Mike.
i have had a couple of these where it appeared to me that liquid had been spilled onto the top of the lid and leaked through the corner of the lid through a square hole in the top of the cabinet into the suppressor. the machines were both next to the kitchen sink.
i put some pvc tape over the top .
