My advice would have been to get the machine checked out before you changed the motor, you are covered by a full five years parts warranty on these machines, Hotpoint would have fitted all the parts required for just under £90.00 labour charge. The machine should be showing error messages by flashing the lights on the left hand side of the control panel.
I think it is a case of when you are in a hole stop digging. The Hotpoint/Indesit engineers ( your machine has the great misfortune to have Indesit electronics in it) have special tools and software on their laptops for diagnostic checks that are not available to the independant trade. If you change the module after changing the motor you will have spent (wasted) around £150 upwards, way above their labour charge, and may still not cure the fault.
