I went to this heap of junk this morn. The machine located in the downstairs bog, jammed between the bog and the sink. Barely room to take a pee and wash your pinkies, if you catch my drift? Anyway, my megger showed a dead short to earth and I isolated the motor (removed motor plug) and problem isolated. 😀

Question: The motor is buggered but what are the chances that it’s taken out the PCB as well? Should I quote for replacing both plus an hours labour to return and extract from bog, fit bits then drag it back into place? 😐

….oh and it’s down a muddy dirt track so perhaps I’d better throw in the cost of a car wash too….!

In all probability the RCD has saved the PCB, having said that, whats the chance of the PCB failing within the next 12 months anyway, it will be your fault if it does. :rolls:

If you quote for a motor, PCB, smart card, and card reader (if you don’t have one) then I would be very surprised if you got the nod.

    Jim.

Know what you mean, been out today to a Czech made New World cooker, oozing with grease, hard to see how the hob comes off, suspect oven stat & selector are faulty.

I really don’t want to put my hands on it again. 🙁
