Hotpoint WD440 Brief flash then dead

Im sure we all seen this one many times and usual fix is to swop main board
but does any one know if there is a simple repair on the board itself ?

When the power on button is pressed there is a brief lighting of the leds then no lights, ie. appears dead.

(not the same as the one where all lights flicker repeatedly)
