Hotpoint WD440 Error code F12

Customer complains of top two lights flashing = F12- Comms fault.
Checked machine through and only fault I can trace is that the inline thermostat with the dryer element is OC 😕

Anyone give me an idea why this should give EC F12? (no comments about it being a crap Hot/Indeshite) 😆 although who would design a dryer where you have to remove the dryer duct to get at the stat. is beyond me 😕
Also has anyone the part no of the stat. please

One shot is a 1605160, fitted like that so that you will have to open up the beast and clear out any blockages at the same time, superceded on later models with a surface mounted microtemp doofer.

Can’t explain the F12, it should possibly be F14. 😕

Check that the fan hasn’t come adrift on the shaft, look for signs of the fan blades scraping on the lower alloy casting, it just needs refitting back down the shaft a little, I usually apply a dab of loctite to the shaft as well.

Check the cable & edge connectors between the boards,if all ok
it`s an eeprom error.

Customers used the machine a few times since I called and error hasn’t re-occurred 😕
I will double-check everything when I call back to fit the stat.
No doubt it will be the pigging electronics, bring back timers that all I can say they were bomb proof 😥
