Hello All,
For weeks I had to put up with the flashing lights, the machine would work after a few minutes of flashing but last week it stopped. I had heard the usual culprit would be a capacitor on the PCB. It was quite tricky to take out the PCB but even easier putting it back in after reattaching all the connections first and wiggling it back in. I found the C17 capacitor and it was slightly domed, this was at midnight. I thought I could do most of the work that night then rush off to Maplins in the morning, I didn’t fancy doing that. I realised I had a durabrand analogue radio that was a few years old, I just knew it had to have a useable capacitor. I found a 10v 100uf one as opposed to the 10v 650uf on the PCB. I used this capacitor and the WD440 works perfect, although it is nearly 6 years old. This is the first time I had attempted ever attempted to fix such an electrical item, if I can do it anyone can, as long as you can solder a bit.
