    My hotpoint washer/dryer model WD440G door won’t open. There’s no warning lights on and the pull handle doesn’t spring back when pulled. I’ve tried pushing the door back to see if that loosened it but no. Any ideas how I can open the door manually. Indesit want over £100 to come out and fix it.

    Forgot to mention that it’s less than 3 years old.

    common fault-just buy a new handle-the plastic has snapped

    Ok, but how do I open the door to get at the handle?

    isolate power to machine, take lid off and if you put your hand down where door lock is you can flick it open by pushing the door catch over.
