ParticipantI am trying to repair a Hotpoint WD440P prod#47159705.
The heater motor is not working and the TOC has failed.
I ordered parts from Connections and they sent a MERC00098711 motor. However when I came to fit the fan motor the existing heater housing requires a motor with 4 mounting screws and not like the one Connections have sent.
Has anyone any ideas?

Strange, according to Partfinder motor C00098711 is for post date code 40 machines and 1604800 is for pre date code 39 machines. You could fit the latest version ( V3) of the complete assy, part number 1605710, that would include all the latest updates.

Thanks Jim, I have been looking at HPT1604800 on connections and that would appear to be the correct fitting.
Why did I not know about these date codes (where can I find any info to help me with these) and why did Connections only give a choice of one motor for this model number??

Sorry can’t answer the Connect question, never used them. There is a thread in the Trade Technical section giving date code advice for several manufacturers.
You can find all the help you need right here, you only need to ask. 🙂
The ‘Partfinder’ CD Rom can be purchased from the Indesit Company, it is only a parts indentification and price list. Virtually no technical info whatsoever and it costs, it is also superceded quite often meaning you have to lay out another £60 or so every 7 or 8 months. Compared to the TDS disc from Electrolux which has full tech info as well as parts ID for less than £30.00 per annum it is overpriced.
Wouldn’t be without it though. 😉
