ParticipantAfter fitting new motor bearings and refitting the tacho, the machine is now seems dead when plugged in.
checked fuse plug and motor connections without success.
would tacho malfunction cause this?
Do I need to reset the machine?
Any ideas?

Are you getting any lights on at all?
The electronics in these machines are Indesit based and are about the worst on the market ATM. They don’t need a reason to fail, they just do. :rolls:
If you have power into the main PCB but no lights or action then there is a good that your PCB is goosed. 😥

I am getting power into the machine for sure but not sure if it is getting through to the circuit board, the capacitor I have noticed has a slight disculering on one of the wires, which dosnt seem normal 😯 , (although I did have problems with the motor ceezing up might have caused that, possibly?)
There are 3 boards in this machine (I think?) Any idea which one will be at fault?

If you have a multimeter or megger then you need to check that you have a circuit from both sides of the mains filter, ( the thing you are calling a capacitor) or better still from the mains plug pins down to the main PCB. Failures at this point are not uncommon.
Main board will be at fault if you have live and neutral into it. Send it off to EMW or QER for test/repair.

Fault found yippy!!!
I have learnt the school boy error, don’t tip your machine with the draw on top!
Water was on the board and connections, dried of with a hair dryer, and urika, the dam thing works!!! ( 😥 just hope I haven’t caused problems for the future, at least I will know where to look. All in all cost me £4.78 for a motor bearing and £4.99 for some araldite to fix the tacho magnet onto the motor shaft, every wash till the next failure feels like a bonus, (i am going shoe shopping with my daughter tomorrow 😀 she will be pleased
