I have come across a few Hotpoint Washer/Dryers where if installed in a property with very high water pressure water floods out of the detergent dispenser after about 15 seconds of filling.

I have checked the vent hoses and cleaned the condenser checked the restrictors are fitted behind the inlet valve filters. The dispenser to tub hose is clear and raised the from of the machine slightly

The only way of stopping the machine from leaking is partially close the washing machine tap to reduce the volume of water entering the machine.

I wondered if changing the dispenser to tub hose might help but I can’t see anything wrong with it?

Probably not worth the bother replacing the hose TBH but worth taking it off the tub end to check to see if tub aperture is clear and that there’s no soap build-up in the U Trap part of that hose maybe? Just turning the wick down on the cold stopcock may be the best and only solution. 😀

    Thanks Martin

I didn’t take the hose off yesterday, just squeezed it to make sure there wasn’t a blockage, previous machine with the same problem I did remove the hose to check (and looked into the tub but couldn’t find the problem. Might be worth going back to check though.
