Hotpoint WD61 Melted Drum front plate

First time that I have come accross this in all my years 😥

Drum front plate melted and twisted where the dryer nozzle meets the door seal 😕
Heater box thermal fuse was blown also.

I have checked the dryer duct, fan heater box etc, no problems. The dryer elements are coming on and off at the right time.

Anyone shed any light on this one?

I’d be looking for a chaffed wire in the motor harness. Usually the orange wire to the dryer stat, shorting to earth and supplying return feed to the neutral switched element.

Checked all that Bob 😉 I am coming to the opinion that the injector nozzle had become deformed and that hot air was escaping past the seal 😕
