ParticipantCan someone help me on this one please.
Went to fit new one shot stat to this machine today (1605635) but although is was the correct temp rating it was physically larger than the one it was to replace and would not fit.
Any help would be good thanks.

Thanks Chris, just tried putting that number in to Connect system and it comes up 1605635 again but I am sure you are right having looked at a picture in the Parts Centre Cat, will ring the Rep and tell them to sort it out.

From memory the last time I did one of them , there was a modification leaflet instructing you to bend the metal bracket slightly in order to accomodate the new thermostat.

Bryan is correct, this replacement stat needs the bracket bending back to fit, there should have been a leaflet with the new stat.
Nice link Bryan, hadn’t seen that post from Martin.

Just thought I’d credit Martin so he didn’t see it as a bit of plagiarism 😉 🙂

Don’t miss the reason for the stat failing. Normallly it’s due to an earth fault on the harness by the motor. The orange wire IIRC

Seen more fail due to broken wire to fan motor. The one you mention Bob is common with FHP motor.

I presume this meant there was no problem with the fan :).

Thanks for all your help on this one guys, new stat now in place after a bit of work with the pliers. Found 2 broken wires near the motor plug which I have fixed.
Thanks again
