    Hello,
    I have a problem with my Hotpoint WD62 washer dryer. The washer works fine, but the dryer does not. 😥 We have a new baby due to arrive very soon 😀 so I need to sort it out!

    I ran it for a few mins last night and then took the lid off. The silver foil covered unit on the top gets hot but the fan won’t spin. The fan motor gets quite hot and is very stiff to turn.
    Do you think I need a new motor? Or is there anything else I should check? I dont think I can justify spending £97 on a new motor as the rest of the machine is 9 years old and has been well used.

    There is an outside possibilty that you could remove the fan motor and find the fan blades choked with gunge and fluff. A good clean would do the trick, however it does sound as though the motor has failed. 😥
