ParticipantHello,
Aside from my dishwasher blowing up, i have a problem with the washer aswell.
It washes/rinses/spins etc all OK.
When it moves to the drying cycle the timer gos through the motions and the program runs the course but the clothese do not dry. It makes all the usual noises but the machine never gets hot.
Is their an heating element that could have gone? Whats the principal on these? Do they just heat the drum up to dry?

spoonz,
Indeed the dryer has seperate heating elements. In most cases the ‘Thermal Fuse’ blows especially if you are ever guilty of turning the dryer off without it completing its 10 minutes cool down at the end of each cylce 😉 If you can admit to that, then indeed that will be the fault and a new Fuseable link being fitted will cure the fault. 😉

thanks martin,
the missus operates it generally and I doubt she will admit to breaking it as she managed to explode the dish washer this week as well, so will be double jepeordy for her 😆
Could you describe where this is? and what im looking for?
I managed to extract the motor from the dishwasher last night so im growing in confidence, I suppose being an engineer by trade helps a little anyway.

Continuity test only will determine this spoonz 😉
Pull the plug 1st before doing any tests !

Basically to check if it’s open circuit.

If you don’t know what the above means, then yes, or call an engineer to check other possibilities.

😀
worked a treat, fuse turned up as promised, 30 secs to install and nice dry y-fronts all round.
saved me about £300 as i was just going to go out and buy a new washer.
Thanks one and all, a great service.

Gone Again 🙁
my immense technical knowledge would suggest that the fuse is going for a reason 😉
Any suggestions? it lasted about 3-4 loads? Could over weighting be doing it?
