    Can you help?

Have a WD64 which has leaked intermittently from new now getting worse. Water comes from the detergent drawer and main door when filling at the start of a cycle, on various programmes.

Have had 1x engineer out saying it the hoses are blocked? I’ve checked these and they are clear. Another 1x engineer has said it is to do with the water coming in being too hot and the drum expanding?? The boiler does churn out very hot water and does not really respond when the temperature is turned down. Could this be the problem?

If so is it easy to change the set up to just cold fill? How will this affect the effectiveness of the washes?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Re: Hotpoint WD64 – leaking

Unless you have a pressurised hot water inlet system I cannot see why that would cause the dispenser to leak?

The most usual cause is almost always due to either too high a water pressure or the dispenser nozzles are clogged/scaled up? If you have very high water pressure (on either hot or cold supply) then simply turn the tap down a bit to stop it. 😉

If pressure is not the problem, then take the soap drawer out and give the cavity inside a good clean with a soft brush. Plus clean the soap drawer thoroughly before putting back in!

Make sure the machine itself is level or better still, sloping a little front to back 💡
