ParticipantHi all 🙂
I understand from searching this forum that the F-13 error code can be caused by a blocked filter. Could someone point me at where this filter is so that I can check it please? Can you just clean the filter or do you have to replace it?
Many thanks.

F-13 is either a faulty dryer side NTC, dryer fan fault or broken wiring.

The error code came on when I tried to use it on high temp dry but it didn’t come on when I chose the lower temp. They dry cycle completed OK which is why I thought it might be a build up of lint. I haven’t attempted to repeat this yet.

f13 is reduced air flow so check fan motor and fluff filter in the condenser unit 😀 UNPLUG MACHINE FROM MAINS 1ST

OK it seems I was wrong about the dry cycle completing normally because now I get no error code but the dryer is not getting warm. I’ve not metered out the element yet but could someone translate what NTC stands for please and its role in the dryer circuit?
Many thanks.

Google is your friend. 😉 NTC It controls the temperature.
No heat is usually due to the TOC failing, loose or broken wiring or failure of the heating element itself.
NB. Before you ask, 🙂 the TOC is the safety cut out, on top of the heater box, can be a small round black doofer with two separate wires connected to it ( the NTC has a small white plug) or it can be inside a yellowish sheath clamped to the top of the heater box.

Thanks very much for that info. The TOC measures open circuit with one end disconnected, I’m guessing that that means it’s died but can you confirm?
The element is OK.
I also managed to break the clip that holds the connector of the NTC in, grr! I guess the heat made the plastic brittle. Are these bits expensive?
Thanks again for your help 🙂

If the TOC has failed and it is the small round one the you may have a blocked or restricted filter or possibly a loose fan . If you change the TOC there is a 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance it will fail again within a few months.
The motor fan comes loose on the shaft and binds on the casing, the filter gets blocked, the whole darned dryer side is a pile of Indesit do do.
It has had numerous modifications without any real improvement TBH.
Both the NTC & TOC are not very expensive but unless you try and find why the TOC has failed you will be wasting your time changing them.

OK understood.
Sorry to be a PITA but how do I get to the fan and filter in order to check and clean them?
As far as I can tell I can get in to the machine by removing the top or via a small access panel on the back at the bottom.
Thanks for your patience with a newbie 🙂
