ParticipantHelp!! this ones doing my head in! ๐ณ
Hot valve will not energise, valve ok, continuety of wiring from boards ok, Wet test works without energising valve, no error codes, I have substituted the control board (did not have a power board) no difference.
I have had the boards away to QER for test, no fault found.
My only suspect is the thermistor, anyone shed any light on to this problem before I go back to it.Mal

Just an update to this problem you may find the results helpful.
Brief description of fault Machine would not energise hot valve even on โwet testโ, โspin testโ was also ok.
I checked all the wiring circuits and valves/ motor/ heater/ thermistor etc from the connections on the boards, no problem. ๐ My next thoughts were faulty boards although I was not fully confident, so I sent them of to QER to have them checked. Both came back with no fault found. ๐
On returning to have another look at the appliance I decided to check the thermistor and heater again by removing the front panel.
Thermistor checked OK but the heater gave and intermittent reading. I removed the heater from the drum and there it was, two โscoreโ marks! I checked the insulation of the heater, all OK but the continuity was intermittent. As we all know score marks on the heater is caused by the drum support failing ๐ก I had done a spin on the washer on my initial tests, up to full speed with no knocking. On withdrawal of the drum the drum support ended up in four pieces!!! I rebuilt the machine with new d/s bearings and heater. Fault sorted, happy customer. ๐
In all the years that I have been in this trade I have never been so deceived and will hold my hand up to it ๐ณWe are never to old to learn :rolls: hope this will help next time you find a similar fault ๐
